Gianni Braghieri he graduated at the Polytechnic University in Milan in 1970 and then he started working in the Aldo Rossi and Giorgio Grassi and. With the latter, he won the following year, the competition for the Modena Cemetery. In 1973 the responsibility of the XV Triennial of Milan, department of architecture. Become a researcher in 1980, at the Faculty of Architecture of Venice. In 1991 he was Professor of Architectural Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan. In 1999 he founded the Faculty of Architecture "Aldo Rossi" of the University of Bologna and is dean until 2005.

Abstract

Nowadays, architectural design is unfortunately not called upon for its problem solving potential. With a completely different system of understanding, it has become impossible to understand what urbanism and city design were in the past. If architecture in Italy had had its proper role, I think it would be, in fact possible to optimally manage all urban phenomena. I believe that the aim of training an architect is to mentally and culturally prepare a designer, then later, the road to specific skills and fields, is built individually through personal insights, interests and finally, through the various experiences young people face while completing their degree.
