The analysis of the current state of the historical centre of Bologna reveals physical and social degradation, extreme use (iper-commerce, iper-university, overconsumption) and deficiencies in public transportation. Through the experience of regional policies referred to the management and protection apllied during the past, from the Plan for the historical centre of Bologna in 1969 and the subsequent Regional Law 47/1978, from the constitution of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region, to the Regional Landscape Plan until the Regional Law 16/2002, it is possible to find proposals for revitalization through the use of public art or defining a network of museums, in order to create a “Museum of the city”, also through the valorisation of modern architecture in the historical consolidated tissue.Downloads
