A key element of territorial policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region is the choice to preserve, enhance and qualify the territory in its physical components, landscape, social, infrastructure and settlement.
These policies have been enhanced in the Regional Law n. 20/2000 “General regulations on the protection and use of territory”, in its most advanced formulation, following the amendment by the Law n. 6/2009 on “government and supportive of the redevelopment area”. All this articulated system aims to ensure the competitive growth of regional production while maintaining the social cohesion that has always characterized the Emilia-Romagna region and is one of its strengths.
