Trees and flowers have always played an important role in the construction of spaces of human life. Even more in the design of burial places, nature and architecture merge and complement each other. They enhance the composition with symbols of mourning and commemoration, both in the structure of the enclosure and in the decoration of graves. Some issues of topical interest in funerary architecture can be positively resolved with a conscious use of the vegetation in all its aspects and qualities. The rediscovery of historical and symbolic art of the gardens must be integrated with the requirements of management and maintenance of public and private green within the cemetery, and mostly with the claim of quality, beauty and meaning by the contemporary city.
