He obtained his master degree in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, where he defended his PhD thesis and he teaches architectural design. Since 1993 he opened a studio in Brescia and in 2008 founded Abda (acronym of Botticini - de Appolonia associated architects) with Giulia de Appolonia. A monograph about Camillo Botticini’s work, entitled “Camillo Botticini, Architecture 1993-2003”, has been published by Idea books of Vicenza .

Abstract

This paper is about the architectural experience which evolved through the design of cemeteries. Describing five different cases, we identified the relationship between the foundamental principle of the enclosure and its variations due to specific contextual conditions, both related to existing historical elements and to the local landscape. In this way the project for new cemeteries or their enlargement become an experimentation on "identity variations".
