In the urban design discipline, drawing is intended as an essential and indispensable tool of representation and narration of the morphological, typological and aesthetic aspects of the city. At the same time, it contains elements and ideas able to anticipate the content design, because it can collect information in a broader vision of the whole, starting reflections, suggesting path of study and action. The design of public spaces, or rather, the design of urban sequences, is able to bring out the backbone supporting the urban system and to identify the potential for growth and transformation outside of the consolidated areas, thus becoming a tool for subsequent methodologically structured processes.
