Since 2016, in_bo is rated as a "classe A" journal by ANVUR. In 2019 in_bo was accepted in Elsevier's Scopus. in_bo focuses on the past and present forms of architecture and the city. Journal History
in_bo was founded in 2008 as the journal of the Department of Architecture (now DA, then DAPT) of the University of Bologna, by Roberto Mingucci (editor in chief from 2008 to 2013) and Luisa Bravo (Journal Manager from 2008 to 2014). From the very beginning, in_bo was located among several research fields connected to architecture, urbanism and engineering, mirroring the study course of the Master Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture, promoted by the Department of Architecture itself.
In order to celebrate its first 10 years, the Journal has renovated its Editorial Board and the members of its Scientific Committee.

Peer Review Process
Acceptance of articles for publication is subject to a double-blind peer review process. Two anonymous referees are chosen on the basis of their specific competence and research fields. Papers are evaluated according to criteria such as intrinsic quality, thematic relevance and originality.
By submitting an article, the author implicitly accepts the double-blind peer-review process. The Editorial Team will provide a judgment both in case of approval or non-approval of the article. The article will be published online within twelve months after the evaluation. Once the paper is submitted and before the evaluation of the proposals, the Editorial Team will use the software iThenticate, in order to evaluate the originality of the texts and of their quotes, and detect possible acts of plagiarism.
in_bo published original articles, that have not been previously published in journals or other channels. The Editorial team may take into consideration articles that have already been published elsewhere, provided that the authors will assume the responsibility of the copyright related to their work.
